The 8th Day of Christmas brings us:
The amazingly talented seamstress behind Ballerina's 'n Bullfrogs is Amanda. Amanda learned her craft as a child, when she would sit for hours, intently watching her grandmother sew. As the years passed, her love for sewing only further blossomed. When Amanda had her own little girl, she was happy to have her sewing skills to fall back upon. Many of the "little girl" clothes in big box stores were far too revealing for her taste; so Amanda essentially designed her daughter's entire wardrobe from scratch. The clothing she made was so popular with family, friends, and complete strangers that she decided to "set up shop." And Voila! BallerinasNBullfrogs was born!
Amanda only uses top quality materials and notions. She frequently employs designer fabrics such as Riley Blake and Michael Miller and the majority of Amanda's fabrics are cottons or knits; with the occasional singed satin flower to perfectly accent her dresses and headbands. Prices start at $5 and top out around $55. The product line currently includes clothing and accessories, for both girls and boys, with hopes to expand to accommodate Mommies in the future as well.
Perhaps one of the most exciting prospects about Amanda's products, was that they are completely customizable and specifically tailored to your child.
Ever since my son was born, my husband and I have had the most difficult time dressing him. Aside from being way off the "growth curve" at 16 months old, 33 lbs, and 33 inches tall, he simply doesn't fit into traditional clothing sizes. The toddler sized pot-belly he sports necessitates pant sizes in the 2-3T range. However, his short legs are swallowed up in those larger sizes and we are always forced to roll or cut the ends. BallerinasNBullfrogs was able to expertly take my son's measurements and design a pair of pants that fit both his waist and his personality.
BallerinasNBullfrogs line, is a "statement" piece, and will be sure to draw envious glances from onlookers. What you can't see from the pictures, is how incredibly soft and comfy they are. In fact, my son looked so comfortable in his pants that a friend of ours wondered aloud if she could snag an adult-sized pair of her own!
Amanda was also kind enough to send a beautiful apron skirt along for the baby's "girlfriend." I was amazed by how well the colors on the skirt mesh together and how wonderfully the various prints complement one another. An added benefit of this gorgeous piece, is the elastic waistband, which ensures that it will be able to "grow" with her for awhile.
